On Sunday, July 20th, my good friend Beth was baptized! She's been coming to our book club for years, and we've been good friends over the last several years. We live in the same town, we have similar interests, and we have good conversations about all sorts of things. We're on pretty opposite sides of the spectrum politically, and it can be fun to discuss issues together, along with lighter and sillier topics (there are a lot of those! 😄).
Anyway, a few years ago, I had a feeling that Beth was going to join the church at some point in her life, that it was only a matter of time. Sure enough, last year, she started attending church more and more frequently with me, and this year, it became an almost weekly thing. She went even when I wasn't there because she felt so good there. And then this summer, she was ready to take the plunge (pun intended) and make it official! It was a joyful, happy day. As part of my calling, I planned her baptism, and I said the opening prayer at it. I'm so glad that Beth is now my fellow Relief Society sister and that there's so much more we'll be able to share!
