John continues to do well on his mission. As of March, he had four months left in the field(!!!). He hasn't been great about sending a weekly email with pictures over the last few months, so the pictures for March are pretty sparse, but I'll take what I can get.
This is from when he was still in inner-city Denver, which was one of his favorite areas, with one of his favorite companions.

This is John's new best friend on the mission. They're not companions, but they're in the same area.
This guy is so great. I've talked with him a couple of times on FaceTime with John on P-days. He grew up in a polygamous FLDS community in the middle of nowhere in central Utah, and he got out of it and will never go back, so he's really on his own now in a lot of ways. He's an awesome guy; I'm so impressed by his resilience, his great attitude, and by his recognition of the truth when he was taught by the missionaries a few years ago after coming from such a sheltered, backward upbringing. I've learned a lot more about what the FLDS are like from his firsthand experience and accounts. I've always been equal parts fascinated and appalled by them.
Another day, another meal at Taco Bell!
They're hiring; maybe John can get a job with Taco Bell post-mission. 😆 He certainly knows the menu inside and out!
