Oh Where, Oh Where Can They Be?

Over the weekend I sensed some kind of a disturbance in the force, and it took me awhile to put my finger on what it was. Then when I woke up on Sunday morning I realized what it was: my phone pictures from part of last year are missing! 😮 I uploaded them to Shutterfly from my phone months ago but when I went through my Shutterfly photos to put them into files for blog posts for last May and June, I realized when I had my Sunday morning epiphany that the cell phone photos weren't there. But my phone photos were on Shutterfly for earlier months, so what happened to the other months? (Is anyone besides me following this?)

I don't know what happened to them, and I don't know where to find them. The Microsoft/Windows Photo Gallery I used on the computer disappeared when the computer was fixed a few months ago and I don't know where or how to find it. I may have uploaded the phone pics to that as well as to Shutterfly but that does me no good when Photo Gallery has pulled a disappearing act. I delete most pictures from my phone once I upload them, so I can't get them there. As for the cloud, I still don't entirely get how that works and I don't know if my photos would be there anyway since I deleted them from my phone, or how I'd even get them if they were. My last path to photo recovery is using whatever phone pics I posted to Facebook in the past. It's not ideal, but at least it's something. I hate losing photos. I miss the old days when it was still only digital cameras. It was so much simpler--you just took pictures with your camera and uploaded them to one or two places and you were done. Progress and innovation are not always true progress and innovation, in my opinion!

So this week I'm on the case of the missing phone pictures. Technology seems to enjoy throwing curveballs into my life, and I keep swinging and sometimes hitting and sometimes missing. Hopefully I'll get a hit here! 🤞
