Here are some random "leftover" pictures from the July trip to Montana. It was a great trip!
Here I was on the first leg of the trip from Boston to Chicago. I had a nicely organized bag, a book to read and finish, and life felt good. π

Before we went to Glacier, we stopped at David's childhood home, where he shaved his facial hair off. He likes having a beard and had been growing it out for a few weeks while he was in Montana, but he shaved it off when I got there. He wanted me to see him with it, and it did look good and is flattering on him, but I prefer smooth skin, and he looks younger without it. The choice, however, is ultimately his.

This was the first picture I took of the Montana scenery. π
On my first night and morning there, we were at David's sister's ranch. We drove a rugged four-wheeler golf cart sort-of-a-thing around their land and it was fun.
I liked their dog, Jake. He ran alongside and followed us around on the four-wheeler for awhile.
Cow bone graveyard π
This was a pretty spot we stopped at along the way on the way to the lake house.
The car had a flat tire when we got back to to it, and we were up in the middle of nowhere with no cell service! Fortunately, the car had a spare tire.
I stayed at a family friend's house for two nights, and they were so nice. This gift bag was waiting for me on my bed, and on my second morning, they made homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. So hospitable and kind!
I was kind of horrified by the bear hanging on the wall in their house. π± Montana likes its taxidermy! They do use the meat of the animals they hunt, so that's good. It's not just for sport. But still though π±.
View from their backyard
And a deer outside my window one morning. It was so peaceful there.
I really liked this heart made of seaglass that was in the bathroom I used. It would be nice to have something like this for the Cape house.
A heart-shaped rock they had found
And a funny dish towel in the kitchen. Obviously, I liked their house! Well, except for the bear on the wall. π
This was on the dry-erase board in the kitchen at David's childhood home. This was also the name of my dorm at Penn, where I lived for the first two years. Funny how things come around again in life!
And the name of my freshman year suite in Hill House was "Suiter Than Honey," and David does beekeeping and makes his own honey. Signs, signs all around!? π
We flew home together from Missoula to Dallas/Fort Worth to Boston. It was a long day of travel, and it was nice to do it together.
Our only flight together before that was our third date (of sorts) in January, when we happened to be on the same flight from Boston to Dallas/Fort Worth when I was headed to Guatemala and he was going to Mexico. Six months later, we were back at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport, this time as an engaged couple instead of a newly dating couple. It all felt right and good, and we were happy. It was a very memorable and special trip.
I love Montana, and I love David even more!
