Beach and Ghosts

We spent a few days at the Cape for my birthday week in July. On one of the days, we had a great beach day, and we went on a ghost tour that evening. What a contrast!

Mom and son

It was me and David's first time at the beach together. We had fun playing catch in the water with Mom, Jennifer, and Sam for a while. Then we walked down the beach to the rock jetty, which is a fun place to explore and take pictures.

I told you it was a good picture-taking spot! We do this just about every year. I missed taking a picture with John and Sam this year. 😞

I like seagulls. They're enterprising, comical birds.

That evening, we went on a haunted history ghost tour in Barnstable, one that I've done several times over the years but hadn't done in a while. It was Sam and David's first time, and Sam got picked to knock on the door of one of the haunted houses we stopped at. (Nothing happened; the ghosts were being shy.)

Listening and looking as the tour guide, Derek, talked about the stories of this old house.

I've been friends with Derek on Facebook ever since Elizabeth and I got a chilling recording in the graveyard on one of his ghost-hunting tours several years ago. I thought he'd know who I was, but alas, I don't think he remembered me.

It was a fun day. Adding to the fun was the fact that between the beach and the ghosts, we enjoyed a delicious late lunch/early dinner at one of our favorite restaurants on the Cape, Brazilian Grill. It was a good way to spend my last day of being 44. Tomorrow's post: my first day of being 45!
