The Boston Tea Party, 250 Years Later!

On this day a month ago, I went to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum with Meredith and Beth. We hadn't done a field trip day in awhile so the time was ripe, especially for this particular place because the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party had just happened in December. We had a good time and the experience did not disappoint! I highly recommend this museum.

There's the museum in Boston Harbor right there, along with one of the ships they use.

It's a beautiful museum, inside and out. And it's cool that it's up over the water like this.

We were part of a group (I think you have to be) and this part of the tour was on one of the ships. We got to throw fake cartons of tea overboard, and I let mine fly. Fun!

Here we are with one of the actors/tour guides. She was excellent!

The spot over at the base of that red brick building is where the actual Tea Party likely took place.

I always like the combination of history and modernity in cities.

What lovely modern Tea Party ladies we are in our jeans and puffy coats and Kate Spade purses. Ha ha.

We went below decks and then through the Museum (which didn't take long because it's pretty small), but I didn't take pictures of any of that. They have a wooden crate from the original tea party that's still intact, which is pretty amazing!

We ate a delicious lunch in the Tea Room. My clam chowder was so creamy and good.

I picked up a younger guy, isn't he cute?! He's a Revolutionary War soldier too, just my type! πŸ˜„
Just ignore my sweater with its British soldiers marching all across it. πŸ˜‚ I'm definitely a Patriot, but I can't deny the ancestral English blood that flows strongly through my veins! (Captain Parker may have broken up with me over the sweater; he's been pretty non-responsive since then. πŸ˜„)

The gift shop was amazing! I bought some lavender herbal tea, which I've never had before.

Meredith picked up a man too, though hers was considerably older. πŸ˜‰

It was a fun day at a great place with my two best history buff friends!
