Roar!

I know other people's pictures from the zoo aren't always the most interesting things to look at, but I feel inclined to post some of my favorites from our trip to Southwick's Zoo in Mendon, Massachusetts last summer (other than the ones I posted yesterday), so I will proceed to do that now, and hopefully you'll enjoy it, but even if you don't, it doesn't really matter. :-)

This is a great zoo that's tucked away in the woods, and it's not far from my mom's house. It's also apparently New England's largest zoo, which I didn't realize until I went to link to their website above and saw that on their site. I've been there several times over the past 20 years or so.

These baby goats are always too cute to be true! I love baby animals!

This little guy got the luxe treatment from Sam, who hand-fed him a (delicious?) piece of straw.

Well hello there!

The Deer Forest is my favorite part of this zoo.
Where else can you get this close to deer without them running away?

What's up Bambi and friend?

Justin the deer whisperer in action with his flock.

I was surprised to find out a few years ago that their antlers are actually velvety soft!

A rock-climbing opportunity that John couldn't pass up. I think a zoo worker told him the rocks weren't for climbing. 😆

This beautiful Bengal tiger was so close to us! It was looking right at me. I think it was almost dinnertime.
Thankfully we were not on the menu (hopefully not to his disappointment).

There was also a beautiful white tiger.

Meanwhile Mr. Lion seemed more sleepy than hungry.

The cheetah seemed pretty sleepy too.

There was a nice selection of owls in the gift shop.

Surprise, I didn't buy any of them!

It was a fun day at a fun zoo!
