I Caught a Butterfly!

I caught a butterfly, a monarch butterfly! On camera, that is. Before we get too far into fall (yeah, I know it's November now) I need to post these pictures I took of this beautiful monarch butterfly in the late summer. When I saw it on the newly sprouted purple flower bush in my front yard, I ran inside to get my camera and hoped it would still be there when I came back out. Luckily it was, but it flew away soon after that so I only got one really good shot. My inspiration was Sharon over at A New England Life, who gets the most beautiful pictures of animals, insects, and nature close-up. I have a long way to go before my pictures become like hers, but it's fun to practice and try!

Can you see it?

This is the shot that makes me proud!

A bumblebee settles for second priority after the butterfly flies away. Do you spy the bumblebee?

Take your camera with you when you go to Nauvoo in spring or summer. There are tons of flowers around the temple and there are always butterflies and bees to take pictures of. Nice Job!

I will definitely do that! I can't wait to go to Nauvoo. Thanks for the tip!

So beautiful! It's not often that you can capture those elusive creatures! Quick clicking on your part, for sure.

It is hard to catch a butterfly on film – well done! Nice asters too. Our monarchs have flown south and the asters are no longer blooming.
