Around the House in February

February is a cozy month to stay in and be a homebody. And eat sweets. ๐Ÿ˜

Sam and I like to make--and eat!--fondue. We use whatever we have for it. This time it was strawberries, marshmallows, and pretzel sticks.

We got creative and made chocolate-covered marshmallows with pretzel stick handles. They were good!

I was my own valentine and got myself a box of chocolate-covered strawberries that I picked up from Edible Arrangements. They're one of my favorite treats. Happy V-Day Donna!

The strawberries were huge!

This one is funny. My Primary co-teacher Erin taught the class one Sunday and had an ice cream sundae paper handout for the kids about the different parts of prayer. It made me think about sundaes for the rest of the day, so that evening I fulfilled the craving and made a small one for myself. ๐Ÿ˜€

A big project I've been working on is cleaning out the storage room, and specifically in February, I focused on the many, many bins of baby and kid things that I'd saved over the years. I gave a lot of things away, sold some things, and saved some things. I did a good job, if I do say so myself, and I didn't even have a nostalgia breakdown! I revisited many happy memories and treated them as such instead of getting sad.

These boxes were things I was giving away.

John got this for his first Christmas, in 2005. I'm rather attached to it and I almost saved it, but I decided to donate it. I had to take a picture first, though.

I was going to give this picture away, but in the end I couldn't. It was a keeper!

Check out my huge donation pile! I use an organization that comes and picks it all up which makes the whole process easier.

It wouldn't be an "Around the House" post without a picture (or two) of Violet on the couch!

Morning light fills up the back of the house so nicely. Mornings are my favorite time of day.

Sam crashed this one, and I was glad. He was getting ready to go to school.

The fuller picture--literally! ๐Ÿ˜„

I went to sit down at the dining room table one day and my mom's cat, Olive, was laying there in the sun. She totally reminded me of Brody.

These flowers were from John's Senior Night wrestling meet.

These ones were for my mom for Valentine's Day from her male admirer. ๐Ÿ˜„ She kept them up on the counter for the rest of the month instead of bringing them downstairs, which was nice.

We didn't have too much snow in February, but there was some, including one snow day for the kids.

It's snowing again today, and the boys had an early dismissal from school. Winter's finally picking up at the tail end of it!
