December 2021 Randoms

That's my kind of life!

I saw this cute, funny calendar in a catalog...

...and bought myself one at At Unlikely Story on New Year's Eve! This is the only type of swimsuit calendar I'd ever buy! (#pornkillslove)

One of the trips I want to take most is to see the Northern Lights. They are so cool.

All I have to do is go to one of these places. No problem, right?

Sam filled this out in a magazine and it cracked me up. He was on a real Obama kick for awhile for some reason.

A cute stuffed owl at the drugstore.

I love these colors and this style. Thanks for being so classic Talbots!

I thought this was a clever picture for this story...

We celebrated Shane's 10th birthday! No more single digit kids in the family. 😭
(Sam 😂)

A perfect snack--pear slices, cheese slices, and Trader Joe's delicious Rosemary Nuts mix.

An Andy Warhol-type holiday pic, courtesy of the public bathroom at Five Guys 😆

I love this mug. And my besties.

I was so happy to find out that there's an alternative now to Hallmark Channel, which I gave up years ago due to programming choices that I had moral objections to. This new channel has the values and standards that I like seeing in what I watch. Yay! Now let's hope it stays that way!

Shane made himself comfortable in the front seat while we waited in a long car line to meet Jeff Kinney. Sam was in the back.

I like horse-drawn carriage rides. I'll try to do this this year.

I helped out at our ward's annual Live Nativity celebration. Can you see me?

I was with the shepherds, of whom Sam was one. He's not in this picture though.

My green bag with the color red again. This is one of the reasons I use my green purse in December!

Scripture time

John standing rather awkwardly in his tux for his band concert. 😆

It was the first band concert since Covid hit! There were strict rules for social-distancing and mask-wearing and only one person per family could go, but I defied that last one and brought Sam. It was so  good to attend a concert again! Even if it was high-school concert band; that's okay with me!

John's in the back row, second from the right. I'm so glad he's stuck with the trombone since 5th/6th grade.

Sam cracks me up

They did a great job! And they played the effervescently cheerful and festive Sleigh Ride, which they do every year. 👏

I bought a Lush bath bomb set as a Christmas gift for myself and it came with a barcode scanner thing to take a picture with their filter. "Big Snow Fairy Energy!" 😆

Dinner at Panera with my bros

My lucky number

I forgot to put this in my Christmas Things post, so here it is now.

Adam got this book for Jennifer and I want it!

A delicious breakfast with Meredith. I love a good freshly squeezed orange juice!

I'd been thinking about getting an air fryer, but then I saw this article and realized I didn't need to. I haven't tried using my convection oven as an air fryer yet, though. I'm not the most experimental chef.

Me au naturel. See, I still like myself without my new hair! I don't usually "wear my hair" when I'm just going to be at home all day.

Here's John on the NNL's live feed on Facebook. He did a few competitions the last week of December.
I got this game but haven't played it yet. Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors. And her life story mirrors mine in some ways (minus the famous rich author part--unfortunately! 😄).

Around the World in 80 Days turned out to be a delightful show on PBS in January and February. I really enjoyed it. Accordingly, this review in The Wall Street Journal was positive.

And the second season of All Creatures Great and Small, also airing on PBS Masterpiece in January and February, was a true delight.
