Reading Alfresco

My favorite reading spot when the weather is nice (which is about half the year) is this spot in the side of the yard. I set up my reclining chair there between the trees and relax with a book and enjoy the fresh air and the the sweet sound of the chirping birds. I wasn't able to do this for the last month because of seasonal allergies, but they're mostly gone now and so are the super-hot temperatures, so I'm able to read there again. It's one of my life's simple but special pleasures.

One of the best parts is the view of this grassy green field next to our house that's surrounded by trees. Of course, I'm mostly looking at the pages of my book, but it's nice to have this around the edges!

Do you prefer reading inside or outside?
What is one of your favorite reading spots?

I do enjoy reading outside but it has to be perfect for me to really be able to focus on the book.
It has to be cool but not cold... like 60-70 so I can be cozy.
There can't be too many bugs around.

Wow. I sound pretty picky there. :)

My favorite place to read is in a big comfy chair in my pajamas with a mug of hot chocolate and a blanket when it is stormy or snowing outside. A fireplace is icing on the cake but I haven't had one in my home since I left my parents house... so hopefully someday that can be part of my reading time again.

Oh- and when the house is quiet! :) A rare thing.

Me too! That's exactly how I like to read inside as well! Great minds read alike. :)
