This is what Sam does sometimes when I take his picture:
Apparently the camera flash must be quite bright. I wouldn't really know since I seem to be the one who's always behind the camera! In any case, I think Sam pulls off the squinting look pretty well. I love this kid!

He still looks adorable!
What a cutie! I'd recommend turning off the flash if your camera has an image stabilizer. Nice to have you back to blogging. I hope you're all feeling better now.
Thanks Sarah, that's good advice. I'll have to figure out if my camera has an image stabilizer. If it does have one, it must need to be turned on somehow because when I take pictures with the flash off they come out blurred unless I hold very still! I'd like to get it figured out because pictures taken without the flash can be so beautiful and real-to-life.
My goodness he is getting big! Cute as anything too : )
He looks so much like you in that first shot! Isn't it rough to always be the team photographer and have no evidence of your own excursions??? I had to do self portraits on my Iceland trip to prove I was there.
How cute is he!!!!
And what a smarty to figure out that when you pull that contraption out, a bright light is going to blind him!
That is adorable! He is anticipating the flash. Funny kid!
What a sweet squint! He's a smart little guy. I'm the main one in my family that squints for all of the pictures, but it's unintentional, and definitely not so cute. :)
So fun to see you on here again.
