Day at Sea

There were two days at sea on our cruise. Days at sea tend to be nice and relaxing. You can do whatever you want and you don't have to go anywhere. You really can't go anywhere since you're on a ship out at sea! πŸ˜…

My mom and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the Main Dining Room, where we had a table right by the window.

The French toast was superb! I ate it all up.

I relaxed in the Solarium for a while with my book, The Woman in Cabin 10, by Ruth Ware. I had read it years ago and loved it, and I was reading it for the second time. It was a fun book to read on a cruise since a lot of it takes place on a cruise ship, albeit a much smaller one.

We went to fun parade in the Atrium. It was my first time seeing a parade on a cruise ship! 😁

These guys dressed up as submarines cracked me up. πŸ˜†

We were always able to see where we were using the TV in our room. When I snapped this picture we were right above Cuba. The locations in white boxes were the stops on the cruise.

Relaxing outside on our balcony. This is one of my favorite things about cruises.

Livin' the life πŸ˜„

This is a cute sailing shirt from Old Navy that I've had for like a decade.

My mom and I went for a nice walk on the walking/running deck of the ship. We did this a few times on the cruise. Walking at sea is a wonderful way to get exercise!

I took a picture of the boys in front of the carousel for old times' sake.
Sam's bangs were ridiculously long! I wish he'd gotten a haircut before this trip.

John and Sam did the rock wall.
(When did Sam get so big?? He's still in middle school but he looks like an adult!)

That night was Formal Night, which we dressed up (a little) for.

I started the day with French toast and ended it with French onion soup!

We ate at the same table at the same time in the Main Dining Room each night. The food was delicious (and was included in the price of the cruise), and I really liked our servers, Kashish from India and Michael from the Philippines. A month later, I still miss Kashish!

After dinner, we took a few more pictures in Central Park. It's a very pretty area of the ship.

This is likely to show up on this year's Christmas card! πŸŽ„

We played Uno in the game room, and there was a cool owl picture on the wall.

In the evening, we went to inTENse, a dance/acrobatic/Cirque du Soleil-type of stunt and diving show. It was performed all by women, so of course, it was awesome!

Check out the tightrope walker before the show began!

Sam liked that the show used music from Interstellar, one of his favorite movies. He and I went again a few nights later and I got better pictures then, so stay tuned for those.

We had to be up early the next morning for our first stop in Mexico, so it was especially nice to have a day at sea to relax beforehand!
