March 2022 Randoms

These are some of the screen shots I took when I was researching medical transcription and trying to decide whether or not it would be a good fit for me.

I am indeed a speed demon on the keyboard. And I'm accurate too!

The first, second, and fourth bullet points apply to me the most.
This is a career that is in great demand and I don't see that going away anytime ever, really. It checks many of my boxes, and I felt good about it, so I decided to go for it. And I'm happy to report that I'm enjoying the training that I've been doing. Hopefully I'll enjoy the actual transcription part once I start doing that. I plan to continue with my editing work for study.com as well, so currently my plan is to be a part-time editor and a part-time transcriptionist in addition to making money from renting and managing the Cape house. Hopefully I can cobble together a decent living for myself that way. If not, I'll go to Plan B: marry rich. πŸ˜‚ I kid, I kid.

These are some of my training materials. I recognize the irony (and a bit of hypocrisy) of going into this field when I'm pretty disdainful of certain aspects of the traditional medical industry and very disdainful of the pharmaceutical industry, but they have their good points too. Besides, I'll learn even more about them this way, for better or for worse.

I started training about ten weeks ago and as of today (June 3rd), I'm over halfway through the Part I binder. My goal was/is to finish the first binder by the end of June, but that's going to be tough to do at this point. I've only been able to do about five hours of training a week and to make the June goal it should be at least double that. I may have to change my goal to later in the summer instead. Either way, it will get done!

I made myself a banana split, one of my favorite desserts.

I don't "wear my hair" every day. I still like how I look both ways. But clearly as you can see from my silly "hair selfies" posts, I have a preference for more hair. But my real hair is fine too (literally, ha ha!).

Speaking of hair, I couldn't believe it when I saw this on the news. Thieves drove a car into the Chanel store that's right next to my hair salon on Newbury Street in Boston. I've stood outside that very Chanel store while waiting for my Uber ride. Crime rates really are rising, even in nice areas like this.

The boys and I love salmon. And the other things on the plate, but especially salmon. πŸ˜‹

John's wrestling pictures came out so well! I'd like to take some credit because I'm the one who gelled his hair that day. And half of his genes are from me. πŸ˜‰ My boy is a handsome boy!

Someone put these Joe Biden "I did that!" stickers on the gas pumps at a station I went to. I thought it was funny! I think it also happens to be largely true due to his administration shutting down many of our oil pipelines, thus increasing our reliance on foreign sources of oil, which is more expensive, thereby driving our prices up at the pump. More and more people seem to be getting fed up with his incompetence and the madness that is happening, even here in liberal Massachusetts.

I've done a family photo plaque at the beginning of each new year of my favorite family pictures from the previous year for several years. The one I did for 2021 arrived in March.

I enjoyed this fun article in The WSJ. John has played the trombone since sixth grade. Apparently he has a side job option for the future. 😁

Connect the dots, la la la!

I got a tattoo!

Ha ha! Obviously it was a temporary tattoo, and it was given out in a Relief Society lesson, of all things. I really liked it but it only lasted a little while because when I used hand sanitizer it melted away immediately. I should have thought about chemical reactions before I did that!
I really do feel very blessed in my life. I have so much to be thankful for.

I love all of Beethoven's symphonies, but Eroica is one of my favorites.

Little bunnies are adorable!

The first sign of spring in the yard!

I really liked some of the things in the Talbot's catalogs this spring. I'm not a big yellow person but I am a fan of lemons as a culinary delight and I like the whole "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" philosophy. Story of my life over the last couple of years!

I've always thought Niki Taylor is so pretty, and she has aged really well. And now I have hair that's similar to hers! (When I wear it, that is!) My life is nearly complete. πŸ˜„
