Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2019

Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year, but last year it didn't have its usual magic and charm until the evening, and even then it was a little blunted for some reason. I guess that's just the way it goes sometimes...even for Christmas Eve!

Sam had made me a little gift in art class and wrapped it himself. So sweet!

The table was set and ready for our special Christmas Eve dinner. We didn't do our usual prime rib; instead, we did HelloFresh's special holiday box of beef tenderloin and assorted sides. It was very good, but a lot more work for me! I didn't take any pictures of the feast itself; I wish I had.

The tree looked really pretty that night. I kept the lights on it turned on all night, which I always do on Christmas Eve. Otherwise how would Santa see? 😉

This is reminiscent of looking down at the tree from upstairs in our house in Iowa. 💖

Christmas morning. Santa ate the cookies, imagine that!

Boo Boo and Violet chomped away happily on their gifts of candy cane-shaped rawhide bones.

After opening presents, we ate a delicious brunch of pancakes, bacon, fruit salad, hot cocoa, and orange juice. And whipped cream of course!

It wasn't a white Christmas but it was nice and sunny out. I would have preferred snow and clouds, or at least just clouds, but that's okay, it was a pretty day.

I relaxed for most of the day and took two naps and finished the book I was reading. It was a nice day.
And that's a wrap on Christmas 2019!
