Exciting News!

I'm pregnant! I'm finally pregnant! I've reached the 3-month mark, which is usually a good time to share the news. This is the reason why I've been so exhausted these past few months. And coupled with that, apparently the same hormones that cause fatigue can also cause sleeplessness, which let me tell you, is brutal. But things are getting better and I'm feeling more and more like my normal self. And I can't complain too much about my symptoms because after three years of trying, I'm so thankful to be having a baby. I'll take whatever it doles out and I'll do it without (much) complaint!

Yesterday we got to see the baby by ultrasound. It was amazing. Even though I've been pregnant before, it's just as magical the second time around, perhaps in some ways even more so since we had to wait a long time for this one. The baby, who is now about 2-3 inches long, was so active and bouncy on the screen, but I can't even feel it, yet it's happening right inside my belly! That's fascinating to me! We're very excited and grateful that this has finally happened for us.

One more exciting piece of baby news is that my younger sister Elizabeth went into labor last night and will probably have her baby today! It's her first baby and it will be my first nephew. And here's the one-in-a-million thing that might even get them in the local news: Today, March 5th, is Elizabeth's birthday, Justin's birthday (he's the daddy), and their baby's likely birthday. How cool is that!?

I believe I was the first to be told of this, outside of your family, so I've long since known and I'm so glad you've made it this far and everything seems to be going really well. Awesome that you got your ultrasound!!

Believe me, nothing is boring about the second time around...or the third...or the fourth. It's always exciting. I had my four between the ages of 21 to 29, so it was pretty quick and it was always just the most exciting thing.

How cool about your sister and her baby! I remember you told me about the birthday thing. That is so hilarious that it actually might happen!

That's really exciting news. Congrats Donna! I had a hunch that you might be, with all of your comments on how you were tired all the time and the cravings ;)

Congratulations!! I am so happy for you. I was wondering if that was the reason for cravings, fatigue, and everything too. I'm so glad that it is. This is great news!

Thank you everyone for your kind well wishes! I had a feeling some of you probably suspected it but were too considerate to bring it up in case I wasn't. Well, you were right!
My due date is September 14th. It seems like a long way away, and I hope the months will go by pretty quickly. I can't wait to meet this little baby.
BTW, my sister had her baby this afternoon! Yay! :)

Yay! I’m so happy to hear that my guess was right. Pregnancy is much more fun than S.A.D. How stressful it must have been to try for 3 years, but well worth it. Congratulations!!!!!

Loved the cat in the hat photos below – how sweet. I have a first edition Horton Hatches an Egg that is one of my prized possessions. Somehow it survived my father’s childhood, mine and my children’s. I’m glad we enjoyed it without worrying about its worth.

I'm still smiling about your wonderful news!!!

How exciting! I had a sneaking suspicion that that was why you hadn't felt like blogging lately. =)

Wow, I don't know why, but your blog consistently crashes my computer. Thats the only reason its taken me so long to comment - I could get your posts on Google Reader, but then I couldn't open up the webiste!

Congratulations, Donna! We are so very, very happy for you. I know how much you were wanting another little one, and I am looking forward to pictures of John being a big brother!
