Watch tonight!

The Republican presidential debate is tonight on MSNBC from 9:00-10:30. It's the last debate before the Florida primary on Tuesday, January 29th, so it might turn out to be pretty important. I think Florida is going to be influential in determining what happens next to the candidates and the GOP race for the nomination. Let's watch and see if everyone gangs up on Romney again, how many times McCain says "my friends" when addressing both his opponents and his fellow Americans (what a hypocrite!), and if Huckabee blinks a lot and makes unsubstantive remarks. Should be interesting!

It turned out to be a pretty good debate. Romney did very well, and he's also leading in the polls in Florida right now. I hope that will last and lead him to a win there. I really hope that people will take a serious, well-informed look at each candidate, because then they'll see that Romney is clearly the best one running for this job.

I think McCain and Huckabee are in cahoots together and that their campaigns made some sort of a deal to work together against the others, esp. Romney, and to go easy on one another.

Giuliani is pretty much done unless he wins or almost wins Florida. What a weird and risky strategy he campaign has. Ron Paul is still running but I wonder for how much longer? Fred Thompson is gone now. He should endorse Romney, not McCain, which is what it's reported he'll do. Boo! I'm glad he dropped out. He just didn't seem to be that into it.

Glad to hear things turned out good. I totally forgot about this and didn't watch it. I was so out of it by 9 o'clock that I don't even remember what I was doing!

Hey Donna! I was so busy last night with work that I didn't have a chance to watch the debate, but I am reading it now. I'll let you know my 2 cents after I've finished reading it and forming my analysis :-) There's also a good chance Andy and I will still watch it, tonight, for date night.

Romney came across really well. The pundits were proclaiming him the winner. With his lead in the polls I would say that would really help him, but tonight the governor of FL just endorsed McCain, saying that security is the most important issue. Since he's popular that's a pretty big plus for McCain. The question is, will enough voters believe him that security is important in the wake of the recent economic news to put him over the top. If Romney wins FL, that will be tremendous as it will prove he can win outside of his "niche" while if McCain were to take it, that will strengthen the perception of him one week prior to Super Tuesday.

Since I think the economy is the most important issue of this campaign (without a strong economy, we can't begin to attack the major entitlement problems looming on the horizon) I've decided that Romney gets my support.

You are a smart guy, Peter! Now we just need to register as Republicans so that we can vote for Romney on Super Tuesday.
