Mom's 70th Birthday!

Last month, my mom turned 70, and we had a family party to celebrate! It was the first time all five of us kids had been together at the same time in years, so that was nice. The weather was perfect, and it was a lot of fun! The only flaw for me was that my boys weren't there (John was obviously in Colorado on his mission, which is a good thing, and Sam was on a trip to Greece, which is an okay thing ๐Ÿ˜„).

Mom and John (her longtime beau)

We had delicious barbecue and lots of side foods, and we played two fun games that I found online, a trivia game about Mom and "Cake-a-gories," a spin on one of our favorite games to play as a family, Scattergories.

Speaking of cake, there was...cake!
And presents, including our big surprise gift to her of a family trip to Scotland next spring!

There's the 70 in the mass of balloons ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

We took some nice family pictures on the porch. David took most of them, except for the one he was in, which John took.

First the grandkids (minus two of them)

Then the five of us kids

(I should have put my sandals back on for the pictures!)

Caught mid-laugh!

Then we expanded, as families usually do

It was a fun day for a very special woman who always gives of herself and is such a blessing to her family and to others. We love you, Mom!
