Thanksgiving 2023

I'm doing a post about Thanksgiving less than two weeks after it happened. It's a miracle!

For the first time since moving back to Massachusetts over five years ago, I didn't host Thanksgiving at my house since I don't have a big house anymore. Instead we went back to our roots and back to my mom's house!

I get this Edible Arrangements platter every year for an appetizer/dessert. It's festive, delicious, and even nutritious! I noticed this year that it was a little smaller but still the same price. #shrinkflation

My mom's BF sent her this beautiful centerpiece for the occasion.

The dinner guests were me, John, Sam, my mom, Jennifer, Adam, and Hayley. We were a nice little group.

Everything was delicious. The turkey especially came out so good. I'm still thinking about how perfectly cooked it was and how I wish I could have eaten more of it (if only I had two stomachs!).

I think the college wrestler especially appreciated eating a nice big plate of delicious homemade food after months of eating in dining halls and weeks of cutting and maintaining a lower weight.

I promised Hayley I wouldn't post this picture of us on Facebook, but I said nothing about my blog.
I'm such a wise guy. 😉

We played a couple of rounds of Scattergories, one of our favorite games. I won the first game and Jennifer won the second. There were some pretty hilarious answers, especially from the boys and my mom, as usual. 😆

This picture (and worse ones that will never see the light of day) made me realize that my sweater looked like a potato sack and wasn't all that flattering. Off to the donation box it goes!

It was a nice day, and probably the last Thanksgiving we'll have with John for a few years. If all goes according to plan, he'll be on his mission for the next two Thanksgivings. Crazy (but in a good way!).
