Wisdom, Humor, and Inspiration in June

Lovely, beautiful June!

As a mother of sons, this was a good and relevant article.

✔✔✔

"The ultimate act of manhood is being willing to commit to one woman and the children the two of you create for a lifetime." Needless to say, that resonates.

"Too many people are given a label and a prescription without first considering the consequences of their dietary and lifestyle choices."

I learned about Dr. Fuhrman's "G-BOMBS" years ago when I watched a PBS show with him and I liked the acronym and the foods behind it. I try with varying degrees of success to incorporate them into my diet on a regular basis.

If I were more nutritionally ambitious, this is the diet I would probably follow the most overall. I'm on the path to it, but am not yet ready or willing to give certain things up completely. Overall I think I eat pretty healthy, but I could definitely do better sometimes. Like eating more vegetables.

I found my old notes from Dr. Fuhrman's show that was on Iowa Public Television (PBS) years ago!

Okay, sorry, but I thought this was pretty funny. 😆

This is so true and such good advice!
"Optimistic people...enjoy a better quality of life, have more energy, recover faster from injury and illness, have lower rates of depression and anxiety, and have better coping skills for dealing with life's inevitable challenges."

"When we understand that the only thing we have control over is ourselves, we can learn to build a foundation of peace and unshakeable calm. The external world loses its power over us." ✔
Plus some good questions to ask yourself.

This applies so well to my life and its journey over the last few years!

"The things that we focus on are the things that we give energy to, and these things become our reality."

Now here's the especially good advice, the best wisdom and counsel of all (in my humble opinion).

I like this.

"Done is better than perfect" has become a motto for me as a reformed perfectionist who used to let perfectionism stop me from getting things done. This is a much better way to live.

These are "F" words that I can get behind! 😄

And to end this post, more of the best wisdom once again.
Following President Nelson's counsel has blessed my life immensely. He was exactly the prophet I needed for the last four going on five very challenging years of my life, and he continues to be. I love him!
