Girls' Weekend 2020

Me and four of my best friends from high school have started a tradition of getting together for an annual girls' weekend ever since I moved back here two years ago. We went to New Hampshire last year; this year because of Covid and all the fallout from that, we weren't sure what we'd be able to do, and it was looking iffy at the last minute when Jen's daughter got sick and had to get tested for Covid, but we were able to pull it off! We kept it simple and cheap and went to the Cape house. It worked out great and it was so nice to get away from the realities of life right now with my friends.

It was a very relaxed weekend. We hung out at the house, walked to the beach, did some shopping, and mostly ate at the house to save money and be safe (Kerry is recovering from breast cancer and is still getting some treatment for it, so she especially needs to be careful).

I coveted Jen's super-cute shoes all weekend!

I also liked this giant water jug of hers. I'm thinking about getting this to meet my own daily water-drinking goals. (I actually just put in on my Amazon wish list after typing that so that I don't forget!)

We went to a nice little Christmas shop in Chatham that I'd never been to.

I thought this little cardinal-themed tree was so pretty. I like cardinals.

As always, it was peaceful and soothing to be at the beach.

I wish we could have gotten this picture with all five of us in it, but nobody else was at the beach.

Someone in the neighborhood decorated the street sign posts. I was impressed!

Jen bought these stick-on mustaches that were so hilarious. We laughed so hard. It felt good to laugh like that again!

Mine fell off mid-picture and Jen's was falling off! And look at Kerry in the back! πŸ˜‚

I already can't wait for our next girls' weekend together! We might try to do two next year since we can't do much of anything else yet!
