I liked the hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon, On The River Inn in Woodstock, Vermont. It was recommended by a good friend of mine who had stayed there before. We were lucky to be able to book a room there because of the quickness of our engagement, and it was fall foliage season in Vermont, when rooms tend to book up far in advance. So I was especially thankful we were able to stay there.
Every morning, there was a delicious breakfast that was included with our stay in this beautiful room.

I liked our room and its pretty green walls and the big king-sized bed. It was on the ground floor and opened right up onto the back lawn.

In warmer weather, we would have spent more time out on the grounds.
This was the hall outside of our room.
We were only a few doors away from the indoor pool area, which was convenient because we used the hot tub and sauna every evening. The hot tub was more like a warm tub, and we wished it had been hotter and more bubbly. It still felt good, though.
There was a nice room upstairs where I spent a pleasant few hours one evening reading my book.
Fresh apple cider was available throughout the day, and it was delicious!
I really liked staying there, and I hope we'll do it again in the future.
After we checked out on Saturday morning, we headed up north to
Ben & Jerry's headquarters in Waterbury. It was a fun and delicious trip!
You can tell we were there in the fall.

There were some funny t-shirts in the gift shop. I should have bought them then, because unbeknownst to me at the time, they're apparently not available anywhere else! I wanted to get the spoon one for David for Christmas, but no such luck. We'll just have to go back again in the future!
Pictures weren't allowed during the factory tour (which was cool! No pun intended 😄). We got free samples of Americone Dream at the end, and it was delicious. It's one of their top ten flavors. #8 to be exact.
Cherry Garcia is my personal favorite at #2 (but #1 in my book!).
We've been trying their top ten flavors since then, and it's been a tasty and fun ongoing experiment. 😋
I'm 17 pints tall...
And David is 18 pints tall, which tracks because we're about five inches apart.
Also, how funny is it that, randomly, there's a guy in a Montana hoodie in this picture!? That's where David is from.
It was a great inn and a fun factory tour!
Lest you miss the covered bridge coverage (pun intended 😁), there will be more in tomorrow's post that we hit on our way home! Fortunately, we didn't literally hit them, though. Okay, I'll stop!
