Honeymoon Hike and A Few More Bridges and a Very Nice Dinner

We went on two good hikes on our honeymoon. The first one was on our first morning in Vermont. It turned out to be a pretty steep hike that we weren't adequately prepared for, and it was long, so we didn't go all the way to the top. But it was a great hike; I loved it!

I couldn't get over how pretty the scenery was as we drove around Vermont that week. The pictures through the windows don't do it any kind of justice!

We drove around to more covered bridges that day. It was a covered-bridge kind of honeymoon!

The beautiful view from the Scott Bridge...

This is the longest wooden span in Vermont!

I appreciated the latticework on the bridges and the diamond-shaped windows.

This bridge had a beach below it that we went down to.

The big red Taftsville bridge was especially bright and cheerful in the late afternoon sunlight.

This is Woodstock's pretty covered bridge.

I liked that it had a walking lane outside of it. Very practical, and perfect for taking in the views!

I mean, 😍😍😍

That evening, we went out for a very nice dinner with riverside views at the Simon Pearce restaurant ("proudly named best waterfront restaurant in the U.S.!"). The food was delicious (especially the cheeses—yum!), the waitress was very nice, and the views from our table were lovely.

I turned toward the camera because the picture was being taken on my not-as-photogenic side. But it still did me no favors. 😆

This salmon and its sauce and toppings were so delicious.

David enjoyed his chicken meal.

It was a great day from beginning to end!
