Thanksgiving Vacation

Last year after Thanksgiving we went to Cape Cod and spent the weekend at our house there. The Cape has a nice abandoned feel in the fall and winter (when compared to the busy-ness and high traffic of the summer season) that is a treasure to those who get to be there then!

We went to dinner at The Brazilian Grill in Hyannis, where we practically had the place to ourselves! This would never happen in the summer!

I love their lemonade...

...and their strawberries and cream dessert. And of course, their excellent steak!

We did something new and went to "Gardens Aglow" at Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich (where The Adventure Park in the trees had been shut down a few months earlier by the town and I vowed to boycott all businesses in Sandwich--with the exception of Heritage because they were the victim of rapacious people in the town). It was a nice festive thing to do to welcome the Christmas season in.

It was freezing out! But the lights were pretty.

I used this picture on last year's Christmas card.

This was quite the gingerbread house!

The boys enjoyed playing on these blue blocks and making obstacle courses out of them.

We also went to an indoor waterpark that weekend. It was good to have a nice simple vacation in a nearby place that we love.
