Five Things I'm Looking Forward to in February

1. I'll go for the obvious one first: Valentine's Day! I'm hoping Peter delivers on the one thing I really want: fresh dark chocolate-covered strawberries, one of my favorite treats ever. (Peter, you're reading this, right?)

2. I'm flying home to Massachusetts for a weekend to see one of my best friends from high-school get married. I love weddings, especially when they are the weddings of people who are dear to me.

3. Reading the book Beautiful Creatures and then going to see the movie. I love doing that!

4. Speaking of books, I'm looking forward to the arrival of a set of bookshelves that we ordered last month. These are the king of bookshelves, very tall with a ladder--as close to the Beauty and the Beast library as we're going to get for now! I can't wait for them to arrive and to do a big book clean-out and reorganization of our collection. With this purchase we are officially renewing our commitment to real books made from paper. I have yet to read a book digitally. I guess I'm just old-fashioned (and perhaps a little impractical) like that.

5. And speaking of old-fashioned, I'm looking forward to watching the rest of Season 3 of Downton Abbey this month. I know I could have easily watched the whole season by now, either online or by getting the DVD, but I prefer watching one episode a week as they air. I think it's more fun and suspenseful that way. It helps me get through the winter too, having that to look forward to each week. (I'm NOT, however, looking forward to something that I know happens at the end of the season. Why, Matthew/Dan Stevens, why?!)

With the exception of that, it should be a good month! (Knock on wood!)
