Last January I saw a herd of deer in the yard, and for once I was able to get some good pictures of them before they ran away. I enjoy seeing white-tailed deer out and about--it's always a small little thrill!
Looks like the one on the left was scoping out the tree for something edible.
Suddenly on alert!
"Who dat?"
"We outta here!"
On another day, I saw a flash of bright color out in the back. It was a red-tailed hawk!
I wish I could have gotten closer pictures but this was the best I could do. It was so cool to see this hawk just before it flew away!
I love the creatures that come into our backyard (aside from critters like the rabid raccoon that was terrorizing the neighborhood two years ago! 😱).
I'll post about one more "January Joy" tomorrow. Who knew January could be so joyful??
