The Top Five Places To Which I Want to Travel

The title of this post is very proper and grammatically correct, if I do say so myself. That's in keeping with the first item on the list. Read on...

Today's Top Five list is about one of my favorite things to do--travel!

Without further ado, my top five desired travel destinations are...

1. England
I've really fallen in love with England. I've always liked it, but my affection for England has definitely progressed to the level of "love" over the last couple of years. It's due in part to things like Downton Abbey and other British shows I like, as well as the many books I've read, both classic and modern, that are set in England. My ancestry is very strong from there as well. I want to see London and I want to see the beautiful countryside and the coasts. If I could only travel to one place in the world, it would be England!

Cornwall. (Poldark!)
I have a great need to see this in person.

The English countryside blows me away with its pretty perfection.

2. Italy
For decades Italy was number one on my travel wish list. Especially Venice--I've always thought this beautiful old city with streets that are canals is the coolest thing. I want to see Venice, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Tuscany, and all of the historical things in them. I want to eat delicious authentic Italian food. And I'd love to see the gorgeous coasts of Italy, as well as Lake Como.

Antiquity mixed with modernity. I love that.

3. Ireland
I think Ireland looks so beautiful. My Irish heritage is strong on my father's side, and so, as with England, I feel like I have this strong ancestral pull to go there. (I keep telling Peter that my desire to travel is in my genes--literally!) I want to see the sprawling old castles of Ireland as well as its gorgeous coastline. Dublin would be fun, too.

What!? This is amazing! And it's in Ireland!

4. France
One word: Paris! What a beautiful, historic city. I really want to see it, as well as the lovely countryside of France, including places like Provence, which I used to have posters of on my wall growing up. I'd particularly like to go to Versailles and the Louvre. I have French ancestry from the Huguenots so I should really go there and honor that. ;-)

 Yes, that's France! Provence, actually.

5. Hawaii
I love tropical islands, and the one I want to go to the most is part of my own country: Hawaii! I think it has the most beautiful-looking islands and scenery. What a gorgeous place it is out there in the middle of the ocean. I wanna go! {Insert whiny voice.}

There are many other places around the world and in the U.S. that I'm curious about and want to visit. Some honorable mentions are Scotland, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, China, various Caribbean islands, and, kind of randomly, the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Have you been to any of these places? What did you think of them?
What places do you want to go to most?
