Holiday Time at Universal Studios

I still haven't posted anything on my blog about the super-fun trip we took to Orlando, Florida last Thanksgiving. It was one of the best vacations we've ever taken, yet it remains undocumented on my blog. (So then I ask you, if it doesn't make its way onto the blog, did it ever really happen? If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, did it make a sound? Deep questions to ponder.)

I intend to do some posts about our Florida trip within the next few months due to my compelling need to document my life, but for now, I'm going to take the opportunity this week to blog about some of the fun holiday things from Florida at the various places we went to. At least it's a start. Today's post is about Universal Studios Orlando. We liked it so much that we spent three different days there, including Thanksgiving day itself. It was so much fun! The Christmas decorations were nice and festive (as they tend to be). I'll mix in a few of my favorite non-holiday-related pictures too.

Suess Landing had the best decorations at Universal Studios!

Peter and Sam were purposely non-compliant for this picture. Sigh.

"This will be the best Who-liday ever!"

The truffula trees got some well-deserved ornaments.

Sam and I waiting for a ride to start. He's the cutest!

I loved the garlands wrapped around the stacks of books at this book shop!

This was one of the quietest, most secluded areas of the whole park. It was nice.

Another day in another part of the park.

Nice window box!

Meeting Scooby Doo! That show was a childhood favorite of mine. The boys like it too.

Here we were outside of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
I want to go to England! But this as close as I'm gonna get (though we do have tentative plans to go next year!!).

On Thanksgiving Peter got us a reservation to eat lunch at this restaurant called Mythos that's supposed to be the best-rated theme park restaurant in the world. I found that claim dubious, but it was a nice place and the food was good. I really liked the cave-like atmosphere inside.

The Jurassic Park area was really fun.

Good acting, boys.

Sam got to pet a moving, mumbling baby triceratops! So cute!

We met Spiderman in a gift shop on the way out.
Note the Christmas tree behind Sam. (I feel like this post has gotten pretty off-topic from its intended focus of Christmas decorations. Oh well.)

While I'm at it, this is one of my favorite pictures of the boys from the whole trip. I took this on our first day at Universal Studios when we were waiting for Peter to get our tickets.
(This also happens to be the background picture on our desktop computer.)

Next up: Christmas decorations at Legoland and Kennedy Space Center!
