Five Things for Friday!

1. We didn't do Screen-Free week this week because we didn't want to. We like our screens too much to give them up for a week, sorry! #notsorry

(I did however take the kids to the library for the first time in a long time, which was evidenced by the fact that they thought we were buying books, not borrowing them!)

2. Speaking of screens, last weekend I happened to see two movies in the theater, and they both happened to start with the letter "A." What are the chances of that happening? (Did I really just say "happen" three times, now four times, in a row? Wow.)
I wish I could say that both movies get A's (get it?), but they don't, at least not from me. I give them each a solid B.

First I saw Age of Adaline. There was good food for thought with this one because of its very interesting and creative storyline. I thought it just needed more depth and character development.

And Peter and I saw Avengers: Age of Ultron. It was good, but I found it a little tedious at times. I feel like I need CliffsNotes for these superhero movies to keep track of all the different characters and backstories and stuff like that. Robert Downey Jr. is one of my favorite actors and I always enjoy him as Tony Stark/Iron Man (and as Sherlock Holmes--please make a third movie!).

Holy smokes! I just realized that for both movies, there are not one, but two words in the title that start with the letter "A." Whaaat?! This post is definitely brought to you by the letter A!

3. Speaking of movies, tonight for family movie night we're going to watch the adorable movie Paddington. We saw this together in the theater on Valentine's Day and we all really liked it. It's so cute and funny. And it helps feed my growing obsession with England and London.

(I told you we like our screens too much to give them up for a week!)

4. Speaking of England and London, I'm proud to say that I correctly guessed what the royal baby was going to be named before it was announced. I was pretty sure that it was going to be a girl, and when she was born, my guess for her name was "Charlotte Diana." I turned out to be right! I forgot that they use two middle names (they named her "Charlotte Elizabeth Diana"), but close enough. Two (prim and proper) pats on the back for me.

5. I wish I could say that "Speaking of baby girls, I'm having one!" with an ultrasound picture underneath, but that is not the case. Wouldn't that have been an awesome way to wrap up this post though? Ha ha! (I'm not having a baby boy either, just in case you were wondering!)

This post has been brought to you by movie screens, the letter A, cute bears, England, and baby girls.

Have a great weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all of you lovely mothers out there! I am very grateful for my own mother, who is one of my best friends, and that I get to be the mother to two beautiful boys who I love very much.
