Things I Wish I Could Do

1. Figure-skate. I've always loved figure-skating and it's my favorite event in the Olympics. I ice-skate pretty well, but I can't do anything special other than skate smoothly. This winter I'm planning on taking a class that will teach me how to do some easy turns and spins and how to skate backwards! I can't wait to pretend to be a figure-skater!

2. Play the violin. I took a year of violin when I was in 7th grade. I've played the piano for most of my life and I love it, but the violin is my favorite instrument! I love the music it makes. This might be something I take up again when my kids get older and I've got more free time.

3. Ballet dance "en pointe." I took ballet lessons for about nine years until I was almost 13 years old, and my final year of instruction I got to finally dance in toe shoes. I LOVED IT! Then my family moved from Utah to Massachusetts and I didn't continue with classes, but I wish I had. I still love ballet and sometimes I dance around my house doing the graceful arabesques and other moves I used to know so well. This is another thing I might take up again when I have the time!

4. Speak Spanish, French, and Italian fluently. I minored in Spanish in college and can speak it semi-fluently. I wish I could speak and understand all of the Romance languages. Italian especially sounds like a beautiful language, and Italy is one of my most-desired places to travel to. Someday I will learn Italian! (And travel to Italy as a reward for learning it!)

5. Cook really well. (I can cook, just not really well!)

What things do you wish you could do?
